Eternity + Jefferson City, Missouri

Last night, Eternity held it’s second vision meeting at the Stained Glass Theatre in Jefferson City.  After having 17 in attendance in late July, we didnt’ know what to expect for last night.  I think it would be safe to say that our time together far exceeded expectations.

First off, we would like to say a true heartfelt thank you to the folks at SGT for allowing us to host our meeting in their facility.  A big thank you also goes out to McAllister’s here in Jefferson City for their generosity and help in providing food for the gathering.

WIth 32 in attendance last night, it would appear that Eternity is off to the races.  With several families not in attendance due to unavoidable circumstances, it would appear that God is powerfully at work in the life of our young church plant.

We now begin looking forward to our first core group meeting on Sunday September 28th.  We’ll begin a six week series on the identity of Eternity and in-depth exploration of our values.  If you were unable to make either of the vision meetings, don’t sweat it.  Mark your calendars for our first core group meeting and come be a part of what God is up to here in Jefferson City.  We’d love to have you.

Eternity has received another $15,000 in pledges over the recent weeks and we are extremely grateful for those who are helping to support the advance of the Gospel in central Missouri.

We’re slowly but surely getting there.  Only $173,750 to go!  God is amazing.

These last few days have been powerful days for Eternity.  Increasing numbers of people are starting to commit to the vision in many different ways and I said in the last blog post that I couldn’t wait to see what God did next.  I never expected this:

And the hits just keep on coming.

Now, we have a mere $188, 750 to go.  I would say that I can’t wait to see what God next, but I’m beginning to be more and more afraid of what that actually might be!  I also can’t express my gratitude enough to those who generously gave these gifts.

Yesterday, May 1, 2008 - Eternity received it’s first official financial contribution.  A check in the amount of $250 and I have to say that I am absolutely stunned.  It’s one of those things that you have a pretty good idea will happen but it’s always a special moment when the first partner gives.  That’s awesome!  Now, we only have $199, 750 to go.  I can’t wait to see what God does next!

I want to say a big thank you to Kevin and Debbie Sheat and all the folks of Grace Place in Lamar, MO for partnering with Eternity as our prayer partners.

Grace Place has been dear friends of ours for over five years now and there are many wonderful things that could be said of this church, however, the greatest is that they are a people of the book and a people of prayer.  I have yet to see any church as committed to truth and prayer as these folks are and God has answered amazing prayers and done miraculous things in and through them.

It is a joy and a blessing to know that we will have them praying for Eternity as we travel this road together.  Thank you guys so much!
