Disciple
“Go And Make Disciples” - Jesus
In the New Testament, the word disciple is used 268 times. Love occurs 287 times. To give you an idea of how that ranks with other words: Hope (85 times) ; Joy (60 times) ; Peace (96 times).
What that means is that the concept of being a disciple was extremely ingrained into the existence of people at the time of Jesus. We are all disciples of something. We are disciples of our hobbies, jobs, political parties, technology, and any other thing that can be followed in life.
But Jesus instructed the church to make disciples of Him. To train, equip, support, and shape people who would follow him with their lives. Disciples are made, they don’t just come into being. It takes “discipline” to follow Jesus. Becoming a disciple of Jesus isn’t just learning information about Him. It is being transformed by Him and living as He did. It is speaking in the ways He spoke. It is thinking in the ways He thought. It is acting in the ways He acted. It is feeling the way He felt. It is a process of becoming more and more like Jesus each day.
The resources you will find on this page will equip, train, instruct, and strengthen you as a disciple of Jesus.
